Rehab Medical Partners with The Tatum Parker Project to Improve Lives of Children Battling Cancer

Updated: Sep 6, 2023

The Tatum Parker Project began after Tatum Parker was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma at just six years old. Throughout the course of her life she would undergo three major surgeries and 13 rounds of chemotherapy only to relapse a few years later. But the relapses did not diminish her fight and in September of 2009 her persistence finally paid off when she was given a cancer-free diagnosis!

After experiencing firsthand, the struggles she and her family faced during her battle with cancer, she knew she could not let other children suffer her same fate alone, thus, The Tatum Parker Project was born. Tatum and her family spend their life fighting against pediatric cancer and hope to spread joy, hope, love, and positivity to children and their families alike.

Unfortunately, due to a global pandemic immobilizing the world, The Tatum Parker Project scaled back on their major initiatives. One initiative being “bags of fun”. For more than 12 years, this initiative has gifted nearly 3,000 bags of fun to pediatric cancer patients filled with toys and gifts to help brighten their day and spread positivity in such a dark time.

To protect the health and safety of the children, employees, and sponsors, they have canceled their annual White and Gold Party, a party dedicated to raising funds to support the “bags of fun” initiative. But that does not mean children have stopped being diagnosed with cancer. In fact, it is more important than ever before to provide hope as these children become more isolated and afraid.

As part of Rehab Medical’s mission to improve lives, it was important to support this great cause in any way possible which is why the company gave a generous donation to help fulfill 30 bags of fun for children in need. This gift supports Rehab Medical’s mission to improve lives, not just for mobility users but for anyone struggling with debilitating conditions.

“We love what the Tatum Parker Project does for those in need. It is such an incredible cause that directly impacts others and it aligns perfectly with our mission to Improve Lives.” - Kevin Gearheart, President of Rehab Medical

Through the Tatum Parker Project’s major initiatives, Bags of Fun and Maddy Justice Keep on Shining Fund, Tatum and her family can continue standing up and fighting against pediatric cancer to bring hope and positivity to patients across the state of Indiana.
